I’m 30-years old and I’ve lived in the college town of Lexington, Kentucky, since 2002. I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart for over 10 years. We are DINKs (Dual Income No Kids), and love it!

Now that we’re out of grad school (and gainfully employed), we plan to travel the world. My personal bucket list includes visiting at least 6 continents (and as many countries as possible). So far I’ve been to: Canada, England, France and Italy.

I love to read, especially science fiction and paranormal romance stories. I used to insist on the experience of reading a “real” book, but I’m a relatively recent e-reader convert and love it. I also watch more television than is healthy for a normal person. Favorite shows include: Bitten, Sleepy Hollow, Castle, and, of course, The Walking Dead.

I love Italian Greyhounds and Ragdoll cats, but I don’t think I’m actually cut out for pet ownership (due mostly to a cat allergy and a lack of the time and energy needed to train a dog). Following other people’s pets on Instagram is the way I get my pet fix for now.

I have a bachelor’s degree in journalism, but my master’s degree is in social work, and I’m currently a full-time medical social worker at a major university hospital.
